Marissa Poel began playing clarinet at the age of 10. She performed in Chicago’s Protégé Philharmonic Orchestra on clarinet for several years. She has earned a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree with honors in K-12 music from Illinois State University. As a student teacher, Marissa developed curriculum for Elementary general music classes, and led sectional and full band rehearsals for Elementary and Junior High School band students in Deer Creek, IL. She also worked with High School band students to build instrument technique and musical literacy. Marissa has experience teaching private lessons since 2009. When not playing, teaching, listening to, or composing music, she enjoys reading, playing video games, and watching movies.
