Ella Pittsford earned her Bachelor of Music degree in May 2013 from Illinois Wesleyan University. Although violin is her primary instrument, she has also had extensive lessons in organ, voice, piano and viola. Ella began playing the violin at age 9 and began seriously studying by age 12. She has studied under Drew Lecher and Vadim Mazo and has been invited to master classes and coachings with Midori Goto, members of the Pacifica and Avalon Quartets, Roland Vamos, Isabella Lippi, Matthew Agnew and members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Ella has been regularly performing across Illinois with various ensembles and orchestras since 2007 and has travelled abroad multiple times for music festivals. Since graduation, Ella has maintained a small professional studio in the suburbs and plans to continue her education with a double Masters in Conducting and String Pedagogy.
