Cory Goetz
Banjo, Guitar
Taylor University, Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Biology
Cory grew up without a formal musical education, but found a passion for the guitar as a college freshman at Taylor University. This passion led him to a pursuit of musical competency that allowed him to find joy in not only playing the correct notes, but also playing the wrong notes so that he might find a way to make them feel like they belong. Throughout college, Cory consistently found new ways to expand his abilities by picking up new instruments whenever he had the opportunity. The Banjo in particular stuck with him. Trial and error is a part of Cory’s philosophy in everything he does, from playing music, to being an assistant lacrosse coach at Wheaton North High School. The expectation has never been perfection, but instead to develop an actionable plan to achieve a desired outcome. Whether you are someone who is driven by small incremental growth, or significant milestones, there is a road map to achieve your goals, but most important is finding a love for music that will carry beyond your formal musical education.
